{"id":325,"date":"2014-08-18T21:50:55","date_gmt":"2014-08-18T21:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.croydonsailingclub.co.uk\/?p=325"},"modified":"2014-08-19T08:31:59","modified_gmt":"2014-08-19T08:31:59","slug":"our-instructors-just-keep-getting-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.croydonsailingclub.co.uk\/?p=325","title":{"rendered":"Our instructors just keep getting better!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not content to rest\u00a0on their laurels, Croydon Sailing Club instructors Neil and Janice, along with prospective instructor Valeria, headed out to <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/nR6iJ\">Queen Mary reservoir<\/a> to attend a one day seamanship skills course as part of the RYA&#8217;s\u00a0Instructor Professional Development CPD\u00a0programme.<\/p>\n<p>Running from 09:30 until just after 18:00 in force 4-5 winds,\u00a0senior instructor Steve Baverstock put all the\u00a0attendees through their paces, working through all the important seamanship skills, from\u00a0man overboard to\u00a0rudderless sailing via lee shore landings, punctuated with amazing opportunities to throw open the spinnakers and take advantage of the fantastic conditions to plane across the wide open spaces the reservoir has to offer.
