{"id":1420,"date":"2017-07-02T20:30:08","date_gmt":"2017-07-02T19:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.croydonsailingclub.co.uk\/?p=1420"},"modified":"2017-07-08T20:14:10","modified_gmt":"2017-07-08T19:14:10","slug":"summer-sailing-sessions-for-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.croydonsailingclub.co.uk\/?p=1420","title":{"rendered":"Summer Sailing Sessions for 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With lots of new members joining us after this year&#8217;s RYA level 1 courses, we&#8217;re often asked which of CSC&#8217;s sailing session are the most appropriate for which members, so here&#8217;s a quick summary of the sessions that will be available during Summer 2017, and which members they\u00a0target; <em>Go Sailing<\/em>\u00a0indicates a leisure or informal training session; <em>Racing<\/em>\u00a0indicates a race session.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>NEW!<\/strong> Wednesday Afternoons: Racing (Ancient Mariners)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Target members:<\/strong> Adults<\/p>\n<p>From 5 July, if you&#8217;re an adult member lucky enough to be available on Wednesday afternoons, our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.croydonsailingclub.co.uk\/?p=1459\">Ancient Mariners racing session<\/a> might just be the one for you.<\/p>\n<p>Open to adults only, this season starts at 14:00 (subject to confirmation via WhatsApp at 10:00) and is currently scheduled to run every week until the end of August.<\/p>\n<h2>Wednesday Evenings: Go Sailing<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Target members:<\/strong> Everyone<\/p>\n<p>Whether you&#8217;re a racer refining your 5 essentials, a new member building up your\u00a0confidence or a family member wanting to take your\u00a0partner or children on a\u00a0gentle potter around the lake on a sunny Summer evening, then CSC&#8217;s unstructured Wednesday evening\u00a0Go Sailing sessions are the one for you, offering the perfect environment for practice and leisure sailing.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday evening sessions run every week\u00a0from 18:00 to dusk\u00a0until the end of August.<\/p>\n<h2>Friday Evenings: Go Sailing<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Target members:<\/strong>\u00a0Novice\u00a0&amp; family members<\/p>\n<p>Friday evening&#8217;s give members the opportunity to benefit from the experience of instructors Andrew and Janice during a\u00a0friendly,\u00a0informal training session.<\/p>\n<p>Due to its popularity, you may need to book in advance for this session, so\u00a0keep an eye on the WhatsApp group for start times and individual session details.<\/p>\n<h2>Sunday Morning: Racing (Sunday League)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Target members:<\/strong> Adults<\/p>\n<p>Between 10:00 and\u00a014:00 on Sunday mornings, South Norwood Lake plays host to our 52-week-a-year race sessions. We aim to have the A series (morning) race underway at 10:15 and the B series (afternoon) race at around 12:00.<\/p>\n<p>Any\u00a0members with at least RYA level 1 or equivalent experience are welcome, all that we ask is that you join in the race to the best of your ability.<\/p>\n<p>New members often tell us they&#8217;re worried about getting in the way, but there really isn&#8217;t anything to worry about.
