Covid-19 Measures

Notice  to  members and sailors  following COVID-19 GUIDANCE

Given the latest Government guidance on minimising social contact, the club has decided to cease all Sunday Racing, Go Sailing and RYA Training from today 22nd March 2020 until further notice .

We understand many persons wishing to seek outdoor activity would enjoy a sail on the water in the isolation of their own or a club boat and will be disappointed not to be able to continue with this sport. However, sailing is an activity that has its risks and should not be undertaken alone for risk of drowning. Last night, the government advised against mass gatherings, to minimise social contact and avoid non-essential travel to curb the spread of the virus. The club’s decision has been taken in response to these measures, to protect the health and wellbeing of participants, duty officers and volunteer instructors, to alleviate the risk of an additional burden on the emergency services at what is a hugely testing time.
