By
agreement with the London Borough of Croydon, the Croydon Sailing Club
sails on South
Norwood Lake, a six acre former canal feeder reservoir. The club
celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005.![]() The lake is situated between Crystal Palace and Norwood. |
There
is a boat park for members boats and a number of club boats.
Club boats are available for use by club members at no additional
charge. Boats are launched from a small slipway on the west side of the lake. Sailing is from a floating jetty and there is a small club house on the south side of the lake. | The club is not able to provide
sailing instruction but keen beginners can learn by crewing for, and
taking the helm with,
experienced members. We
are keen to encourage new members and offer the opportunity to crew or
use a
club boat. |
